Privacy Policy

LunarLife ("LunarLife," "we," "our," or "us") is operated by LunarLife, Inc., a Delaware corporation. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the LunarLife mobile application and related services (the "Service").

 

You must be 18 years or older to use LunarLife. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

 

 

 

1. Who We Are

 

LunarLife, Inc. is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at inquiries@lunarlife.me with any privacy question or request.

 

 

 

2. Information We Collect, and Why

 

• Account information. Examples: email address, authentication identity (Google, Apple, or Facebook sign-in). Purpose: create and secure your account. Legal basis (GDPR/UK GDPR): performance of a contract.

• Profile and birth information. Examples: name, birth date, birth time, birth location, birth elevation. Purpose: generate your personalized AstroCast insights and chart calculations. Legal basis: performance of a contract.

• Location. Examples: your device's current location; a location history used to determine your exposure to tracked celestial and environmental events. Purpose: power location-dependent features and exposure-based insights. Legal basis: consent (you control location permission at the OS level).

• Device calendar. Examples: if you grant calendar access, the events in the calendars you choose to connect (titles, locations, descriptions, times). Purpose: merge your real calendar into Cosmic Calendar. Legal basis: consent.

• AstroPulse check-ins. Examples: your self-reported daily ratings (energy, sleep, mood, focus, and similar) and optional notes. Purpose: power your personal N-of-1 studies and daily insights. Legal basis: consent / performance of a contract.

• Compatibility Check data. Examples: when you use this feature, the name and birth date, time, and location of another person that you choose to enter. Purpose: generate a compatibility reading. Legal basis: consent. See Section 6 for your responsibility when entering another person's information.

• Search and journaling content. Examples: your Celestial Search questions, Historical Lookback requests, and journal and notes entries. Purpose: generate AI-assisted responses; save your history. Legal basis: performance of a contract.

• Purchase information. Examples: subscription tier, transaction history, and entitlement status. Purpose: manage your subscription and any referral program you participate in. Legal basis: performance of a contract.

• Device and usage data. Examples: app version, device model, general usage and feature-interaction data. Purpose: understand how the Service is used and improve it. Legal basis: legitimate interest.

• Crash diagnostics. Examples: crash reports and error logs. Purpose: diagnose and fix technical problems. Legal basis: legitimate interest.

• Push notification token. Examples: a device token used to deliver notifications. Purpose: send you notifications you have enabled. Legal basis: consent.

 

Your device's precise location is "sensitive personal information" under California law. We use it only to provide the location-dependent features you request, and we do not use it to infer characteristics about you for advertising.

 

 

 

3. How We Use Information

 

We use the information above to operate, personalize, and improve the Service; to process your subscription and any referral program participation; to communicate with you; to maintain the security and integrity of the Service; and to comply with legal obligations.

 

Insights are for information and entertainment. The insights, readings, and interpretations the Service generates are provided for informational and entertainment purposes only. We do not use your information to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

 

No cross-user research today. We do not currently use your individual AstroPulse or N-of-1 study data for cross-user research or to produce insights across users of the Service. If we introduce a research or "Across LunarLife" feature in the future, we will first update this Privacy Policy and ask for your consent before your data is included.

 

 

 

4. Service Providers and Sharing

 

We share information with the following categories of service providers, each acting on our behalf under contract:

 

• Supabase: database hosting, authentication, and backend infrastructure

• Firebase (Google): app analytics, crash reporting, and push notification delivery

• RevenueCat: subscription and purchase management

• Anthropic: AI-generated insights, interpretations, and search responses (this includes any Compatibility Check information you submit; see Section 6)

• Amazon Web Services: secure archival storage of AI request records

• Databricks: analytics processing of Service usage data

• Open-Meteo and Open-Elevation: resolving elevation from location coordinates

• LearnWorlds: hosting educational and credentialing content for the Evangelist, Pro, and Shopkeeper programs, for users with access to them

• Apple, Inc.: processing App Store purchases

 

We do not sell your personal information for money.

 

Advertising measurement and your California "Do Not Sell or Share" choice. The Service uses Google's advertising-conversion measurement, which can connect an ad click or install to activity in the app. Under California law (CCPA/CPRA), this may be considered "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out at any time by turning on "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" in the app's Settings, or by emailing inquiries@lunarlife.me. We also honor opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, where they can be detected. Turning this setting on does not affect your use of the Service.

 

 

 

5. On-Device vs. Server Data

 

Some information, such as onboarding progress and cached recent activity, is stored only on your device. Most account, profile, location, check-in, calendar, and purchase data is stored on our servers, as described in Section 2.

 

 

 

6. Compatibility Data About Another Person

 

The Compatibility Check feature asks you to enter another person's name and birth information. By submitting this information, you represent that you have that person's permission to share their birth details with us for this purpose, and that you will not use the feature to enter another person's information without their knowledge or consent. We process this information the same way we process your own profile data, including sending it to our AI provider (Section 4) to generate your reading.

 

If you are the person whose information was entered by someone else and you want it deleted, contact inquiries@lunarlife.me and we will review and act on your request.

 

 

 

7. Data Retention

 

We keep your account, profile, location, calendar, check-in, and journal information for as long as your account is active, and delete it after you delete your account on the schedule in Section 8. AI-generated search and compatibility results, including the underlying request, are kept for up to one year and then removed from active systems and archival storage. Backup copies are removed within the periods stated in Section 8. We keep transaction records for as long as the law requires for tax, legal, and accounting purposes.

 

 

 

8. Account Deletion

 

You can delete your account at any time from within the app. When you do, your account is deactivated immediately and you will not be able to sign back in. We then erase your associated personal information from our live systems within 30 days, and from backups and analytics copies within 90 days, except where we are required to retain certain records (such as transaction records) for legal, tax, or accounting purposes.

 

Deleting your LunarLife account does not cancel an active subscription. You must cancel separately through your Apple ID settings.

 

 

 

9. Your Rights

 

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export (data portability), or request deletion of your personal information, and to withdraw consent or object to certain processing. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, to correct it, to opt out of sharing, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. EU and UK residents have rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact inquiries@lunarlife.me. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

 

 

 

10. International Transfers

 

LunarLife is based in the United States, and your information is processed in the United States. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we transfer your information to the United States relying on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK equivalents) or on our providers' data-transfer certifications.

 

 

 

11. Security

 

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

 

 

 

12. Changes to This Policy

 

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by posting an updated policy with a new effective date.
